ย้อนกลับไปในปี ค.ศ.1821 หลังชนะสงครามประกาศเอกราชกับสเปน ทำให้เม็กซิโก ได้ครอบครองดินแดนกว้างใหญ่ไพศาลที่ทุกวันนี้ เป็นภาคตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของสหรัฐอเมริกาซึ่งประกอบด้วย เท็กซัส อริโซนา แคลิฟอร์เนีย และนิวเม็กซิโก
